Philip Theoharides
Managing DirectorPrior to joining AGL and from June 2016 to December 2017, Theoharides was a Managing Director at Balance Point Capital (BPC) where he brought in the lead investor for the firm’s first institutional fund and created a unique unitranche product to drive investment sourcing and competitiveness for BPC.
From 2009 – 2016, Theoharides was a Senior Vice President with GE Capital and Antares Capital where he conceived of and developed an innovative automatic co-investment program with large US pensions. Theoharides also conceived, designed, and sourced the first “revolver-only” automatic co-investment program
From 2005 – 2009, Theoharides created a new investment platform to invest in the subordinated notes of CLOs first at Kohlberg Capital (Katonah) and then at TPG Credit. Investors at TPG Credit (now Castlelake) realized IRRs in excess of 35% in the CLO strategy.
From 2002 – 2004, Theoharides was the COO of Kohlberg & Co’s, Katonah Capital.
Prior to 2002, Theoharides originated, underwrote and managed innovative securitization transactions for GE Capital and Citibank’s Capital Markets Assurance Corp. He was also credit trained at Chemical Bank.
Theoharides has a BS in Business (Accounting) from Skidmore College.
